EARLY YEARS

(PRE-NURSERY TO KINDERGARTEN 2) OUR CURRICULUM draws on neuroscientific research and is developmentally appropriate, integrated and creative. It aims to instil care for self, for others and the environment in our children.

Events and Programs

Our approach honors the development of the child as a whole: intellectually, physically, emotionally, and socially across preschool ages. It also recognizes that all children are intelligent and capable learners and will develop across and within these developmental areas in unique and individualized ways.

LEARNING CENTRES

Learning centers are resource-equipped centers set up throughout the classroom where children engage in activities of their choice. Play at these centers reinforces conceptual understanding as well as provides opportunities for differentiated learning.

THE CIRCLE

The centre of the classroom is free and has the celebrated circle. Whole group interactions during the circle time, music and movement activities and organized games build community, strong social skills and a spirit of belonging in the learners. This circle enables the teacher to maintain eye contact with every child.

THE OUTDOORS

The verdant environs resplendent with vegetable patches, gardens, trees and flowers aplenty in addition to equipment for play make a vibrant outdoor area. The outdoors are an extension of the classroom and children with their magnifying glasses and cane baskets can be found exploring, discovering and sharing the mysteries of nature.

TABLE TOP ACTIVITES

Table top activities are teacher guided and provide focused learning experiences for small groups of children. They allow the teachers to have intense interactions with the children and provide individual mentoring.

CARE ARE FOR SELF, OTHERS, ENVIRONMENT

Care for self begins with building self-esteem through developing self-help skills, providing choices, autonomy, challenges, success affirmations and support to help the children know and flourish in this knowledge of being unique and special.

Pre-Primary Curriculum:

The Birla Open Minds Preschools (BOMPS) are conceptualized to accentuate the ‘early development stages’ learning requirements of the children. Activity, entertainment and student-centric learning methodologies are the hallmark of BOMPS.

Child Safety, hygiene, nutrition and individual care are prioritized with standardized systems and processes. BOMPS curriculum is designed to enhance appropriate social behavior, increase sensory perception, build effective learning habits and drive individual personality.
